L'importanza crescente degli enterococchi nella patologia umana ha costituito un notevole impulso allo sviluppo di metodiche per la loro identificazione, allo studio dell'epidemiologia, patogenesi e prevenzione delle infezioni enterococciche, alla sperimentazione di farmaci per il loro trattamento ; ecco un elenco di spunti per saperne di più.
